About
Description: This is a panel ofacademic researchers who not only work on research projects about digitalnomads, but also among digital nomads. In anthropology, it is said that aresearcher has ‘gone native’ when they have spent so much time in the fieldthat they have in fact become part of the tribe themselves. Well, that may betrue for many of us on this panel! There seems to be little knowledge in thenomad community that academic research is even done about them. Yet, thereexists a growing body of scholarly writings that go beyond the sensationalistDN headlines we’re seeing all over the media. Academic research observes nomadsfrom various perspectives and as a part of a bigger whole of global megatrends. In the session, the panelists will introduce you to their own research, discusswhat science has figured out about digital nomads so far, but also tell youwhat we don’t know yet (clue: “There are 35 million nomads in the world rightnow…” - guesstimations). At the end, the audience will have time to ask theirquestions from the panelists.
