Emily Upton

Emily Upton is a climate scientist and renewable energy design engineer by trade, a nomad and sustainability influencer by life. She earned her undergraduate and master’s degrees in applied climate engineering from the University of Michigan, before going on to work for the United Nations, a major U.S. electric utility, and two major U.S. renewable energy developers, while simultaneously volunteering on village-led sustainable development projects for low-income communities in India, Tanzania, Nicaragua, and Puerto Rico. Now, she continues to engineer up to 800 MW renewable energy plants working remotely, while traveling the world, and providing approachable sustainability tips to fellow nomads as The Sustainable Adventurer.
