Kaisu Koskela, PhD, is an independent scholar, anthropologist, and policy advocate. Her research focuses on digital nomadism and other emerging forms of remote work mobility, as well as the rapid rise of so-called 'Digital Nomad Visas'. A long-term advocate for location independence, she has herself worked and travelled as a digital nomad for the past 15 years.
This panel will clarify the blurred lines around who digital nomads really are and what matters to them. The four panelists will share key research insights into the digital nomad lifestyle, introducing themes of family, mental welfare and work-life balance. They will then discuss how the movement is transforming local economies and challenging governments to rethink their border policies. Digital nomads are more than just travellers—they are powerful agents of change.
